In our June issue of Living, in Good Things, I used one of our Martha Stewart photobooks trim punches to dress up everyday items to create lots of party accessories. Use what you have on hand: cakestands, straws, toothpicks, plain paper cups. You can cut away at punched shapes to come up with infinite variations. …

Yesterday and today, employees at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia got a chance to shop at the company tag sale, which featured props, furniture, Christmas decorations, crafting supplies, dishware and textiles, in addition to large-scale appliances! While the larger items were raffled off, everything else was marketed at exceptionally low prices, and it was so fun to see everyone take a break from work and shop in the sunlit clerestory. Enjoy the gallery!

New in my shop today: poster size calendar templates.

Do something unique with your calendar this year – go BIG! Making a poster size custom calendar is a breeze with this diy calendar kit. The 16×20 layered templates include clipping masks for easy photo insertion. The calendar stamp is in its own layer so you can easily change the color to suit your project needs. This kit includes 5 layered templates – each with a unique photo design.
I had my poster calendar printed at my local Costco, and framed it using the Ribba Frame from Ikea.

Both the personal use and the professional use version are 20% OFF thru January 17th. Presslist subscribers get an additional 10% off savings.
Actually, ALL 2011 Calendar Kits are on sale thru January 17th.

Thank you to everyone that entered the Poster Size Calendar Template Giveaway last week! I decided to draw three winners instead of just one:

Congratulations Marty, Sue and kimB! Please email me to redeem your prize.

The Holiday Craft Sale on Saturday was quite a success! It was a bit overwhelming for a first-timer like me, but ultimately very exciting to find myself amidst a whirlwind of vendors, festive decorations, delicious food, music, games and the hundreds of people who waited in the freezing cold to enter. Below is a recap highlighting some of my favorite moments and vendors of the day:
1 Vendors prepping their tables before the sale opened to the public.
2 The entrance to the clerestory, adorned with foil wreaths from the cover and the Sparkle & Shine story in the December issue.
3 A glitter station!
4 Metallic wrapped packages under a string-light tree from December’s Outdoor Lighting story. The numbered triangles were used for the Craft Walk.
5 photobooks on display from 20 Years of Holiday Good Things.
6
7 Vendors came up with such creative ways to display their photobooks.
8
9
10
11 Lauren Murphy and her tree of ornaments!
12
13 Festive cards and calendars by art director Erin Jang.
For those of you who missed the sale, didn’t get around to every table, or still have some holiday shopping to do, I’ve put together an informal gift guide with some of my top picks for gift ideas from Saturday’s vendors:
1 To wear as pins or hair clips, these festive holiday corsages made by Athena are the perfect gift.
2 Give the gift of sweet dreams and sweet smelling drawers with Stephanie’s dream catchers and cedar sachets (next image).
3
4 For keeping little ones warm in winter weather—Silke’s beautiful knitted collars.
5 Marcie’s gorgeous handmade jewelery.
6 The perfect accessory for your holiday or New Years party – hair pin sets by Blake and Corinne of Handle & Spout.
7 For a lucky newborn—organic handmade wooden teethers and toys by Amy Turn Sharp of Little Alouette.
8 To grace a tree or entranceway—strands of ornaments by Laurie Cinotto of Lalalaurie.
9 For a fashionable friend who loves color—necklaces by Jodi Levine.
10 Beautiful cameo necklaces made by Shane.
11 Colorful and festive holiday card sets and thank you notes by Rifle Paper.
